Melinda George, president of the National Commission on Teaching & America’s Future (NCTAF) discusses her passion for teaching and what made her become an advocate for America’s schools on Women of Washington. She talks about a recent NCTAF report, What Matters Now: A New Compact for Teaching and Learning, which provides guidance on how to migrate to an education system where schools are reorganized in ways that support teaching, drive learning and provide every student with a strong foundation to build a bright future.
NCTAF seeks to help educators capitalize on this time when policy and practice are shifting toward more engaging and relevant teaching and learning for all students.
