Days after Hurricane Irene blew through the East Coast, some federal buildings along the East Coast remain closed Tuesday.
The General Services Administration is listing the current building closures on its “Facilities Status” website, as it has done since Sunday. However, as the storm made its way up the coast passing through New York and into New England, the list has grown.
As of Tuesday morning, the closures are:
In Maryland:
In New Jersey:
In New York:
In North Carolina:
In Virginia:
GSA said it will update its list as buildings re-open, however, it also said individual agencies would decide whether employees should report to work.
Meanwhile, after giving federal employees in the D.C. area the go-ahead to take unscheduled leave or telework on Monday, the Office of Personnel Management announced the federal government would be open and operating as normal Tuesday.
