The President signed a continuing resolution in late September that extended funding for agency budgets at fiscal 2012 levels (in most cases) for six months into the current fiscal year. For more information about the funding measure, click here.
The end of the fiscal year is looming and with election year politicking, Congress needs a laser focus in order to approve all 12 annual spending bills for fiscal 2013.
This year’s appropriations process is complicated by the sparring over sequestration, the automatic budgets set to take effect at the beginning of January and also by the budgetary caps on agency spending imposed by the Budget Control Act.
