Cloud computing hardware should be more efficient, at least when it comes to plugging it into a network. That’s according to the Defense Information Systems Agency. DISA just wrapped up a request for information on easier ways to plug the hardware into different places. The agency wants to learn more about two different hardware models. The first is a Data Center Leasing Model, where a cloud vendor leases space on a rack or on the floor of a data center for the hardware to sit. The other is called an On- Premise Container Model, where the hardware is kept inside a container inside or next to a Defense Department facility. DISA says those two models could work as future alternatives to its current cloud hardware options.
