On this week’s edition of On DoD: The Army Reserve is the only military component that’s had consistent trouble meeting its recruiting goals over the last several years. As one way to fix that, it’s hoping to draw from the ranks of active duty soldiers who are being asked to leave involuntarily because of the overall Army drawdown. The Reserve started a pilot program called Active Component-to-Reserve Component more than a year ago, and it’s since expanded to several active Army bases.
