Leon Panetta has been Chairman of the House Budget Committee, Director of the Office of Management and Budget, White House Chief of Staff, and a member of the Iraq Study Group. He is, in addition to his responsibilities at the Panetta Institute, a co-chair of the Council on Base Support and Retention, appointed by California Governor Arnold Schwartzenegger. So he is uniquely qualified to talk to me about Federal budget priorities in the next administration.
