Former President George H. W. Bush
In the aftermath of the earthquake that devastated Indonesia in 2004, former President George H. W. Bush created an unusual alliance with former President Bill Clinton to provide privately funded aid.
The result was the Bush-Clinton Tsunami Fund, which raised and distributed millions of dollars. Since then, the former presidents have collaborated on similar funds for victims of the 2005 Pakistani quake, of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and of Hurricane Ike in 2008.
