Republicans on the the House Homeland Security Committee are concerned over the removal of several specific areas from the committee’s oversight plan. The Democrats detailed some of their agenda Wednesday during a business meeting. Several Republicans say the decision to remove the Coast Guard as a separate section, the committee’s specific oversight of DHS information sharing as it relates to terrorist activities and cargo inspection would hurt the committee’s oversight authority.
