Members of the National Guard will be working at Times Square in New York City for the New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Defense.gov reports New York’s National Guard has been an “integral part of security planning” since Sept. 11, 2001.
National Guard members will be working with New York City police and the city’s emergency management office.
