The F-22 simulator isn’t able to keep the pilots as sharp as need to be, Air Force Times reports.

Air Force Captain Travis Passey says you can’t simulate the environment of flying with the Gs and some of the stresses that you have on your body, the heat, things like that.

The pilots have been relegated to using the simulation since the grounding of their F-22 fleet in early May.

The Air Force is currently investigating potential malfunctions in the F-22 oxygen system.

The pilots say there it does help to heave increased classroom time.
