General admits leading cyber attacks in Afghanistan

The military has admitted to launching cyber attacks in Afghanistan.
Marine Lt. Gen Richard Mills addressed a conference in Baltimore last week. He told the audience that, as a commander, he led cyber attacks.
He says his forces were able to penetrate enemy networks, infect them and defend the military against cyber attacks. He was in charge of international forces in southwestern Afghanistan between 2010 and 2011.
While U.S. cyber attack operations have been suspected for a long time, it’s unusual for a military general to acknowledge it publicly.
