There aren’t many new plans this year, but CHECKBOOK’s Guide to Federal Health Plans author, Walton Francis says United Health Care has a new high-deductable consumer driven plan.

The big news for the season, says Francis, is the 13% hike in the Blue Cross Standard Option premium. Francis points says “it’s still a great plan, in terms of coverage.”

The point is that most, if not all, the plans have some sort of change or another. Even if you’ve decided not to change to the plan you have, it’s worth your time and trouble to find out what changes the plan has in store for you!
