Luck o’ the Irish

They said it couldn\'t be done. They were wrong.

FederalNewsRadio Senior Correspondent is known around town as a federal pay & benefits guru, but that’s not all he’s good at.

Apparently, he has quite a green thumb, as well.

Unbeknownst to the newsroom, Mike and In Depth host Francis Rose planted some unusual seeds outside earlier this year.

To everyone’s surprise, they sprouted and bore fruit (err — vegetables).

We’re calling it the luck of the Irish.

In mid-February Francis and I planted some potato seeds. Many of you laughed. Ruben said it was the wrong time of the year. Katrina rolled her eyes. Julia said she had every confidence in us, but was later heard sobbing in her cubicle. Suzanne said knock your socks off. Dorothy said I’m not eating that crap . . .

Behold, ye of little faith. Look outside of Amy’s window (the sunniest spot we could find). What we need here is a little more can-do-spirit. I hope this inspires you all.

Mike

Executive Editor Amy Morris looked out of her window a few days ago and was shocked — SHOCKED — at what she saw.
They said it couldn’t be done. <br/> They were, obviously, wrong.
