Congress has reached a deal on the stimulus package, opening the doors for lots of spending by the federal government, but where will the money go?

There are four categories: tax breaks for individuals and businesses; investments in health care and alternative energy; funding for “shovel-ready” infrastructure projects; and aid to state and local governments.

The agreement didn’t come without resistance. Many in the GOP fought the stimulus package, saying the price tag was just too high.

The final bill is much different than what was proposed three months ago and only time will tell if this version will help the economy.
