Attendance level at nuclear summit high

Homeland Security Today editor David Silverberg says nuclear proliferation is top of mind for many country leaders.

From presidents to prime ministers, leaders from 47 nations gathered downtown this week for the U.S. Nuclear Security Summit.

The issue on the table was the proliferation of nuclear weapons, and in particular combating the threat of nuclear arms falling into the hands of terrorists, something President Obama has labeled as “the single biggest threat to U.S. Security.”

The President renewed his call for an effort to secure all vulnerable nuclear materials globally within four years

Editor of Homeland Security Today David Silverberg said the level of attendance demonstrated just how crucial the issue is.
