DoD embraces do more with less

Carl Conneta, co-director of the Project on Defense Alternatives, explains how the Defense Department is trying to cut back on spending.

President Obama’s budget request includes $671 billion for the Defense Department in 2012.

The proposal calls for less spending in many areas, including weapons-buying and services.

This wouldn’t be the first time the Pentagon has been asked to do more with less.

Carl Conneta is co-director of the Project on Defense Alternatives. He says the Pentagon is already on the right track.
