The federal government needs to hire 30,000 cybersecurity professionals. But does anybody out there want the jobs?

That’s what the Government Accountability Office is trying to find out, NextGov reports. The agency is conducting a study to gauge the appeal of a federal cybersecurity career, said Davi D’Agostino, GAO’s director for defense capabilities and management.

In a webcast, he said government and industry have recently cited a shortage of cyber experts, and he promises a GAO report examining the government’s cyber hiring challenges will be issued soon
