There has been all sorts of talk about Web 2.0 and security, and the Defense Department is on the front lines of that discussion.

We are expected the DoD policy on these Web 2.0 tools to be issued any time now.

The CIO Council recently published guidance on how to think about Web 2.0 and security.

Robert Carey is the CIO at the Department of the Navy — and co-chair of the CIO Council’s security committee, which created document.

He tells the Daily Debrief why the guidance was issued.
