The argument over repealing the military’s 17-year-old “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy has been loud and may getting louder in the weeks ahead.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates is urging lawmakers to repeal the policy, just as the new Marine commandant, General James Amos, is saying that it is the wrong time to overturn “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”

Then there will be the release of data on what the troops think about the policy.
