Sources who have read a draft of a Pentagon report on “don’t ask don’t tell” tell the Washington Post that lifting the ban on gays openly serving in the military will have a minimal effect.
The report was based on a survey sent to active duty and reserve troops to gauge opinion on repealing “don’t ask don’t tell.”
According to the Post article, “The survey results led the report’s authors to conclude that objections to openly gay colleagues would drop once troops were able to live and serve alongside them.”
The report is expected to be given to President Obama by Dec. 1.
