The progress of a new cyber defense pilot program between the Defense Department and government contractors can be summed up in the phrase: “So far, so good.”
The program, launched by the Defense Department, is showing promise in increasing cyber defenses and preventing enemy intrusions into sensitive government networks, said outgoing Deputy Defense Secretary William Lynn.
Defense.gov also reports the program allows the Pentagon to share classified threat intelligence with defense contractors or their commercial Internet providers. Lynn discussed the program and the threats of cyber warfare in the digital age at the Defense Information Systems Agency’s Customer and Industry Forum at the Baltimore Convention Center.
