November 23, 2010 — Here’s a nightmare: take 17 agencies and 1,000 federal programs and put them all together on one web site. Sounds like a suicide mission but Curtis Turner pulled it off. He’s the program manager for Benefits.gov.
Benefits.gov is a web site run by the Department of Labor that will give citizens information on what the federal government can do for them. It’s part of the Obama administration’s transparency initiatives.
Turner will discuss why Benefits.gov is hosted in the cloud and how consolidation and collaboration are making the website a big win for the Department of Labor.
