The Department of Defense is requiring officials who participate in costly acquisitions at the Pentagon to get written approval from an agency ethics officer before taking a job with a contractor.

Government Executive is reporting that the interim rule was announced in the January 15th issue of the Federal Register.

The move is aimed to slow down the revolving door between government and private industry.
