The General Services Administration awarded an additional Internet security contract modification today to Verizon Business Services.

Verizon got the award as a contract modification on GSA’s Networx Universal telecommunications contract.

This is the third and final award under this acquisition.

In a press release on Tuesday, GSA said the service will include an Einstein Enclave (a computer network intrusion detection system) and the following components:

  • Security operations center for agency protection
  • Transport from the agencywide area network to the trusted Internet connections portal
  • Redundant Internet access service
  • Supply chain risk management requirements
  • Optional features to allow for agency unique requirements

The press release also says that the Internet security program under Networx allows agencies to comply with OMB’s TIC initiative.
