A congressman is predicting a lot of twists and turns for the health care industry as stimulus funding and future health reform legislation evolves. Speaking at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society virtual expo, Texas Congressman Michael Burgess applauded the fact that health IT was addressed in the stimulus package, but said the government faces an “enormously difficult” task ahead. A healthcare industry official said they’re working toward an October 1 deadline set by President Obama.
