Cybersecurity Update – Tune in weekdays at 30 minutes past the hour for the latest cybersecurity news on The Federal Drive with Tom Temin and Amy Morris (6-10 a.m.) and DorobekInsider with Chris Dorobek (3-5 p.m.). cybersecurity bill will make sweeping changes to federal cybersecurity policy and implementation. Aptly named “Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset Act of 2010,” the bill creates an Office of Cyber Policy at the White House. Bob Gourley, the editor and chief of CTOVision.com, breaks down the good, the bad and the promising.

The effort to make web’s address system more secure is taking a major step forward. A security layer will be added to the web’s address system in July. The Domain Name System Security Extentions will help protect users from phishing and spam. It should close the loophole that allows hackers to intercept DNS data and redirect users to fake websites.
