Some of his suggestions include using encryption, using anti-virus and spyware software and never assuming that public hot spots are secure.

  • The federal government spends nearly $100 billion a year in network-centric operations and improved cyber defense, according to some estimates — and that doesn’t include cyber-spending in the intelligence community. A new report, Cyber In-Security: Strengthening the Federal Cybersecurity Workforce, says we need a more comprehensive cyber policy and strategy.
