Officials with the Business Software Alliance say it is needed to help countries put together national policies and laws that will really work in stopping the different kinds of cybersecurity threats that are out there. Robert Holleyman is President and CEO of Business Software Alliance and tells us about what principles are included in this global framework. The Senate’s new cybersecurity bill will not only defend federal networks but the internet itself. Aptly named “Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset Act of 2010,” the bill creates an Office of Cyber Policy at the White House. The director will lead all federal cybersecurity efforts and devise a national cybersecurity strategy. The bill also creates a National Center for Cybersecurity and Communications at the Department of Homeland Security. The director will advise the President on efforts to secure federal networks.
