Defense gives warfighters ways to share info

The Defense Information Systems Agency\'s Net-Centric Enterprise Services (NCES) Program achieved its final acquisition milestone on Sept. 29

The Pentagon moves closer to giving warfighters eleven new ways to share information more quickly. DOD’s Net-Centric Enterprise Services Program provides almost a dozen different communications services that will allow secure information sharing between troops in the field, as well as between systems. The program has reached its final acquisition milestone, meaning it’s close to being deployed. Among other things, the setup will let troops search for all kinds of information and collaborate with each other from anywhere in the world.
