The Defense Department will limit the types of contracts subject to a tough new conflict of interest rule. The rule prevents contractors from providing technical or engineering advice on projects they may also build as prime or major subcontractors.
Federal Times reports the final rule is limited to weapons systems, engineering and technical assistance deals. DOD omitted information technology and professional services contracts. The final rule was published in the Federal Register.
