Hackers have unleashed a new pair of schemes that demand ransom for access to your files. Computer World reports one of the attacks uses malicious PDF documents to infect files and make them unreadable using encryption. When you try to open the infected files, you get a ransom note demanding $120. The other attack infects master boot records on Windows PCs, so you can’t even start them up. Its ransom note demands $100. You can get around this one by using rescue and boot disks or a special password.
