The Air Force released a mobile application to help people prepare for its basic training.

The app – called Fundamentals – can be downloaded by anyone for free through iTunes. An Android version is on its way, said Carol Wall, Air Force project manager of the Air Education and Training Command’s future capabilities branch of the future learning division.

The main reason Air Force trainees leave the service is poor physical condition, Wall said.

“The active duty members that I work with said anything they can learn ahead of time before they get there is just going to get them ahead of the game,” she said.

The app shows the proper form for push-ups, pull-ups and running. It also includes games about command ranks, Wall said.

To date, the app has been downloaded 1,500 times, she said.
