A publicity-seeking hacker group that has blazed a path of destruction on the Internet over the last two months says it is dissolving itself.

It has hacked several federal and state agencies, including the U.S. Senate, CIA and the Arizona Public Safety agency. Lulz has posted confidential information on publicly available web sites. The group’s disbandment comes as a surprise to cyber security experts, many of whom were skeptical that Lulz would really disappear. One of the group’s six members was interviewed by AP as late as Friday, and gave no indication that its work was ending.
