Anonymous strikes back, shuts down websites

In retaliation for the arrests of several of its members, the hacker group Anonymous has taken down several websites.

Members of the hacker group Anonymous have taken down more websites in retaliation for last week’s arrests of several of its members. ComputerWorld reported, the latest victim is New York Ironworks, a supplier of police tactical equipment. This morning the company’s site was not accessible. Anonymous, and a group of fellow travelers called AntiSec, are angry that a former member is cooperating with the FBI. Hector Xavier Monsegur goes by the hacker name Sabu. The Associated Press reported , federal authorities have agreed not to prosecute Monsegur on drug and gun charges.
