It may not get as much attention as the Veterans Health Administration, but the Indian Health Service is responsible for health care for nearly 600 federally-recognized Indian tribes. The IHS has had its challenges since its establishment in 1955.
Now, this Department of Health and Human Services agency launched a dashboard to let management see what is going on in a number of quality measures. Jonathan Merrell, acting deputy director for quality health care at the IHS joined Federal Drive with Tom Temin for more discussion.
