In some ways, the federal government is like somebody who collects salt and pepper shakers. It’s got a house full of items that all do the same thing. Each year the Government Accountability Office tracks down what it calls fragmented, duplicate or overlapping federal goals and activities, trying to get the executive branch to trim them. Jessica Lucas-Judy, director of strategic issues at the GAO, joined Federal Drive with Tom Temin with highlights of the latest findings.
