Police ask ‘letgo’ to help find killer of phone-seeking teen

Police in Virginia are looking for the killer of a teenager who was shot while trying to get a used iPhone through the letgo app

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Police in Virginia are looking for the killer of a teenager who was shot while trying to get a used iPhone 6 advertised through the letgo app.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/2oMkUUz) that 16-year-old Jamaa Khalik Scott was shot shortly before midnight on April 11 in the parking lot of a school in Richmond.

One witness told police that Scott couldn’t afford the phone, and so planned to grab it and run.

Another witness told police he went with Scott for the exchange and saw him struggling before yelling “run!”

Shots then rang out and he found his friend fatally wounded.

These details emerged in a Henrico County Police affidavit supporting a search warrant for records from Letgo USA. Police say no arrests have been made.
