After years at the bottom of the cellar, DHS improves across the board
Leaders and supervisors at the Homeland Security Department both scored 2 percentage points better this year compared to 2015, and employees’ intrinsic work experience at the department is also up 2 percent. Those improvements likely contributed to DHS’ 3 percent boost on the employee engagement index this year, the highest increase out of any other very large agency on the 2016 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey. DHS also rose 3 percent in the new “IQ,” which is made up of 20 questions related to inclusive workplace practices.
