Usually, Public Service Recognition Week is the one week in the year when federal employees get to enjoy praise for the hard work they do serving the public. This year, though, the annual federal employee lovefest has been a bit of a mixed bag.
On the one hand, the Partnership for Public Service revealed the finalists for the 2018 Service to America Medals — a great honor for some of the most innovative and hardworking feds. On the other hand, this week the American Federation of Government Employees released a letter, sent by Office of Personnel Management Director Jeff Pon on May 4, which proposes changes to the federal retirement system.
Federal News Radio kicked off coverage of PSRW with a survey of federal employees, who shared their thoughts about the annual event. This page collects news stories, interviews, commentaries and multimedia about 2018’s festivities.
