October 12, 2010 — Traditionally, software development has a high failure rate. This becomes a serious problem with federal program managers who deal with sensitive information to say nothing of the Obama administration focusing on reducing costs.
One approach is to take a closer look at how software is written.
The traditional manner of software development is something commonly referred to as a “waterfall method.” The federal government is being pushed to be more effective in the area of software development and they are being encouraged to look at an approach classified as “agile.”
Mike Jones, agile evangelist, OutSystems will describe some common concepts from the world of agile development. Listen and he will clarify some terms like scrummaster, product backlog, and product owner.
