From “USPS’ Potter urges ‘public dialogue’ on future of Postal Service” on FederalNewsRadio.com:
” Today, the U.S. Postal Service is expected to release its final list of post offices and other postal facilities that it plans to close across the country. Its all part of an effort by the USPS to close an estimated 5 billion dollar budget shortfall forecast for this year.
“Postmaster General Potter, a career postal service employee who came up through the ranks from the post offices in New York City where his dad worked for the Postal Service, told Thursday’s National Press Club luncheon that all through its history, the USPS has changed with the times, and now, it has to do the same thing again, in the face of a massive revenue shortfall.”
