It was designed to get the MRAP into the field in Iraq – fast. The Rapid Acquisition Process has gotten kudos from overseers of Defense Department acquisition, including a thumbs-up from the Chairman of the Defense Acquisition Reform Panel in the House Armed Services Committee.
