It was designed to get the MRAP into the field in Iraq – fast. The Rapid Acquisition Process has gotten kudos from overseers of Defense Department acquisition, including a thumbs-up from the Chairman of the Defense Acquisition Reform Panel in the House Armed Services Committee. Congressman Rob Andrews talked about the success of the Process to lead off last week’s hearing, called “The Department of Defense’s Rapid Acquisition Process: Is It a Model For Improving Acquisition?“
