Federal CIO Vivek Kundra reflects on first-year progress

Federal chief information officer Vivek Kundra says a new program will make sure cloud computing makes economic sense for agencies and companies.

Federal CIO Vivek Kundra has made a lot of waves and a lot of headlines in his first year as a member of the Obama administration. Tom Temin spoke with Kundra during the IRMCO conference, still going on, in Cambridge, Maryland. Kundra described the ways he is getting IT programs to be more accountable, and cloud computing to be more palatable to agency managers. But first he talked about some of the first-year progress.
