A key lawmaker says he’d like to learn more about security lapses that may have occurred at the National Central Bureau after the release of a Justice Department Inspector General’s report. He says the 2009 report outlined major lapses at the Bureau, possibly dealing with the transfer of critical information between federal, state, and local law enforcement. Congressman Edolphus Towns (D-NY), Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, says he’s got questions for the Justice Department and Homeland Security, since those two agencies are responsible for co-managing the Central Bureau.
