The Defense Department website gets a face lift.
The team behind www.defense.gov is saying, “You asked for it, you got it.”
For the past year, officials said DoD has been reviewing the comments made about the content on www.defense.gov, and now added new features to the site.
The website now has two distinct homepages. One is for the general public; the other for the Defense community specifically. Plus, the website will remember the one you chose, so the next time you visit you will see the last homepage you clicked on.
DoD official said Twitter has become a great way for leaders to communicate with the troops and share their thoughts, so another new feature on the homepage is the integrated Twitter box.
DoD also added some of the most requested links from within the Defense community, like links for pay and benefits and education benefits, as well as a DoD organizational chart.
