In the pantheon of major memorials in Washington, there’s a big one missing: World War I. The centennial celebration of the end of the Great War is less than three years away. But the WWI Centennial Commission opens a design competition later this week. It’s looking for a plan to fit well in D.C.’s Pershing Park. Edwin Fountain, the vice chair of the Centennial Commission, joined Tom Temin on the Federal Drive with more on the competition.
