Lygeia Ricciardi leads the Consumer eHealth Program at the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC), which is part of the US Department of Health and Human Services. She is responsible for developing and implementing ONC’s national strategy to engage consumers in their health and healthcare via information technology. Prior to joining ONC in 2011, Lygeia had a private consulting practice focused on consumer ehealth. Previously, she was a Director in the Health program at the Markle Foundation, a Policy Advisor and Speechwriter for the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, a Content Manager at a dot com, and a Research Associate at Harvard Business School. She earned a Masters in Technology & Education from Harvard, and has also studied at the MIT Media Lab and Wellesley College. Lygeia has lived in Europe, Africa, and the sometimes equally exotic culture of Washington, DC, where she currently resides with her family.
