One member of President Bush’s cabinet is staying put. President-elect Obama has announced that Defense Secretary Robert Gates will continue in his job after January 20th. Yesterday was Secretary Gates’s first news conference after the announcement that he’ll stay.

The name of the nominee to be the next head of the Commerce Department has been announced. President-elect Obama has chosen New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson to be the next Secretary at the agency.
