Federal News Radio’s Jason Miller reported from the Gov 2.0 Summit that “out of necessity, soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan develop applications that make them safer or their lives easier. And many times those ideas are lost when the serviceman or woman leaves the theater or changes units. Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Sorenson, the Army’s chief information officer, wants to harness that innovation and make sure these bright ideas are shared across the Defense Department. So Sorenson Thursday announced a new program, called Apps for the Army.” Jason recorded the discussion from Day 2 of the Summit, and we had some highlights on today’s show.
