Operation Shady Rat targets UN, DOE

Another coordinated cyber attack has claimed intellectual property from over 70 organizations around the world. Security firm McAfee originally identified the attacks. They’re calling the attacks Operation Shady Rat. RAT is an acronym for remote access tool, a form of software used to access computer networks. The Council on Foreign Relations reports, the United Nations, the Department of Energy and several defense contractors were victims of shady RAT cyber attacks.
